Internships and Practicums for Majors in:

- Human Services
- Medical Office Assistant
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Master of Social Work
- Substance Abuse Counseling
- Psychiatric Nurse Pracitioner (psychotherapy)
Scheduling:
Scheduling:
- Usually 6 weeks to 8 months depending upon the intern's education plan,
- Varies from a few hours per day to multiple full work days per week,
- Based upon hours required to satisfy education program objectives, and
- Varies in remote and in-person work (most work is in-person)
Interns - What You Can Expect
Interns - What You Can Expect
You will get hands on experience with One Therapy's staff and clinicians, clients, and community. You will get one-on-one supervision meetings to discuss your experience and answer your questions. You will explore your interests and implement your ideas for improving service delivery. You will network with community stakeholders and potential future employers. You will focus on work to support your learning and One Therapy's business operations.
What your internship will not be a bunch of busy work. If it feels like busy work, then reflect and explore on the connection to real work application. After this, you may also want to process this in supervision. That said, there will some work that is less just appealing than other work.
Work assigned to you with vary. Some work will be independent, some may be observation, and some may be collaborative. Assignments will made based upon your education level, previous work and volunteer experience. You are welcome to express your interest in specific work assignments so this can be taken into consideration.
While the internship will be unpaid, you may gain other tangibles (besides education) like free training which make great additions to any resume. One Therapy is here to pay it forward to you. We hope that in the future you will find a way to pay it forward, too.
